Samiyah Obarey 

Student Support Officer

Samiyah Obarey grew up in East London and has worked in education since 2021. After beginning her career in Special Educational Needs schools, she moved into higher education, supporting international and sixth-form students.

Samiyah is now a Student Support Officer at the University of Hull London Campus, where she supports students throughout their university journey.

Samiyah is particularly passionate about working with international students, helping them feel welcomed, supported, and confident while studying in a new environment. She enjoys building positive relationships with students, listening to their experiences, and helping them navigate academic, personal, and cultural transitions.

Her own background has shaped her understanding of the importance of representation, inclusion, and belonging. This perspective informs her commitment to celebrating diversity and creating a supportive environment where every student feels valued.
