This course uses a unique and design-oriented approach to internationalisation and the management of businesses, placing a strong emphasis on developing your key managerial, administrative, planning, and analytical skill sets.

Choose your modules

The program places a significant emphasis on the fundamental areas and essential practices of business and enterprise management. It provides a comprehensive hands-on learning experience aimed at equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively manage key aspects of their businesses. The MSc Business Management programme consists of six 20-credit modules, a non-credit bearing “study skills and research methods” module, and a Business Management project, carrying 60 credits.

International Business in Practice

This module offers a critical exploration of theories and debates in the global business context, enabling you to apply them to real-world business practices and activities. It examines the impact of institutional environmental changes on the cross-border operations of organisations. You will gain knowledge to analyse international business phenomena and personalize your project topics according to your career ambitions. With flexibility and autonomy, you will acquire the ability to effectively apply international business theory, enhancing your understanding of global business dynamics and preparing you for diverse international business scenarios.

Strategic Planning and Foresight Methods

Gain adaptive decision-making skills and explores strategic foresight techniques such as horizon scanning, trend analysis, and scenario planning. You will learn how to analyse the past, present, and future of your organisations to identify and communicate insights, enhancing organisational resilience and flexibility. Applying critical strategy concepts, you will explore potential solutions and implications for policy, risk, strategy, and processes in the public and private sectors. By the end of the module, you will have the ability to identify, analyse, and communicate future insights and evaluate policy responses, integrate inclusive approaches, and make informed strategic decisions in today’s dynamic business environment.

Marketing Management in Action

This module equips you with the marketing knowledge and competencies necessary for managing in diverse organisations with intercultural contacts. You will learn to devise sustainable marketing plans through real case studies. Practical aspects involve practicing and showcasing marketing management skills. The module emphasises the development of intercultural competence and the ability to navigate global marketing challenges. By the end of the module, you will be able to apply marketing concepts in multicultural contexts, create effective marketing plans, and demonstrate their understanding of marketing management principles.

Design-driven Business Innovation and Management

You will be immersed in the dynamic intersection of innovation management, design thinking, and human-centred approaches. Through a comprehensive exploration of the latest theories, principles, and practices, you will gain an in-depth understanding of strategic management of innovation within organisations, such as strategizing, prioritisation, generation, implementation, protection and appropriation of innovation. By leveraging design-driven innovation processes and human-cantered design tools and methods, you will gain practical insights into new product/service development and innovation strategies. The module will prepare you to effectively manage and navigate the entire innovation lifecycle, enabling you to contribute meaningfully to organisational growth and success in today’s rapidly evolving and technology-driven business landscape.

Leading People & Performance

Reflect on your leadership behaviours and adapt to volatile, uncertain, chaotic, and ambiguous environments. You will explore how external factors influence leadership decisions and tasks, focusing on critical success factors for socially responsible leadership. The module emphasizes the critical success factors for socially responsible leadership, focusing on behaviours and psychology. Gain insights into your leadership style, enhance your decision-making capabilities, and develop skills to lead and optimise the performance of individuals and teams in challenging contexts.

Sustainable Logistics and Operations Management

This module will introduce you to the realm of sustainable management of logistics and supply chain operations. You will gain an understanding of critical drivers, barriers, and interventions for implementing sustainability principles across global logistics and supply chains. You will learn cutting-edge techniques in operations and logistics, enabling you to make high-level decisions and effectively manage current and future trends in sustainable logistics. The module fosters forward-thinking skills and emphasizes the complex nature of sustainability, preparing students to align businesses, customers, and regulations to support society and the environment.

Dissertation (MSc Business)

This Dissertation gives you the chance to tailor your research project according to your interests gained throughout the taught element of your MSc programme. The dissertation is the pinnacle of the MSc course and allows you to build upon your knowledge gained in the previous taught modules, by carrying out research based on real-world business challenges that will prepare you for the complexities of entering the job market.

Study Skills and Research Methods

This module equips you with the essential skills you need at the start of your MSc journey. You will learn the academic skills required for progression and develop competencies to undertake your own research projects. The module emphasizes working within diverse settings, understanding the importance of feedback, and ethical considerations in academic research. By the end of the module, you will have enhanced academic skills, an understanding of working in diverse environments, and the ability to conduct ethical research projects.

Entry requirements

Our programmes are designed for graduates from any discipline with a strong interest in the principles and practices of relevant areas. 

A minimum of a 2:2 UK Honours degree or international equivalent and academic IELTS 6.0 overall, with 5.5 in each skill.

£12,100
