Student Support
The University of Hull prides itself on its teaching excellence. Last year we were awarded the Teaching Excellence Framework Gold award for our teaching.
At the London Study Centre, all students are taught in small group classes of no more than thirty students.
All students are allocated a personal supervisor (personal tutor) and in the third trimester a dissertation supervisor.
Empowering students through study skills and academic English is a core part of our educational mission. We have a full-time academic English and study skills lecturer on the team. In addition, we deliver dedicated support classes to prepare students for the extended project/dissertation they’ll begin in the third trimester. Students also have full access to the University of Hull’s Study Skills resources: webinars, self-access videos, and one-to-one tutorials.
All students have full access to the University’s Career services. This includes one-to-one consultations, support with CV writing and interview preparation, and webinars developed for the London context tailored to their particular professional goals.
To further enable students to develop professionally we deliver a programme of guest speakers and field trips to bring the professional world to the students’ educational experience.
All students are members of the University of Hull students’ union. This enables students to shape their education as course representatives and give voice to their needs. Through the Students Union students will also have the opportunity to engage socially in areas of interest to them.
